Futuremark OverclocKing Competition 2008: Italia sul podio

“Si è da poco conclusa la nuova competizione dedicata all'overclock organizzata da Futuremark in collaborazione con ASUS. giorgioprimo e leghorn tengono alti i colori italiani aggiudicandosi il secondo posto”
Si è appena concluso il Futuremark OvercloKing Competition 2008, un evento online organizzato da Futuremark Corporation in collaborazione con ASUS. Per questa manifestazione si è scelto di usare come metro di valutazione il noto benchmark 3DMark Vantage di Futuremark. Per l'occasione ASUS ha messo in palio 3 notebook della linea Republic of Gamers: un G71, un G70 e un G51, assegnati rispettivamente al primo, al secondo e al terzo classificato.
Tra i primi 3 classificati compare anche un nome sicuramente noto ai lettori di Hardware Upgrade: giorgioprimo. Reduce da una poco fortunata trasferta a Taipei per il Gigabyte Open Overclockin Championship (a questo indirizzo è disponibile l'intevista fatta al portabandiera italiano al termine dell'evento), giorgioprimo insieme a leghorn sono riusciti a conquistare il secondo posto sul podio, facendo registrare P28779 di punteggio.
Tale risultato è stato ottenuto utilizzando un sistema composto da una scheda madre ASUS STRIKER II EXTREME in abbinamento ad una CPU Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 overcloccata a 5726MHz. Per il comparto video è stata scelta una scheda video NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280, mentre il sistema operativo utilizzato è stato Windows Vista a 32bit.
